Holmsey visits the Midlands!

Holmsey had a great time when visiting Cath.

Holmsey said that there is so much to see and do round here , that he really must find time for another visit , especially as he also had a side trip to Mablethorpe http://www.mablethorpe.info/
on the East coast while he was with me . We visited a couple of seal rescue sanctuaries and had lots of fun . On the last day there , we actually saw wild seals int he ocean , just off he beach, It was wonderful .

We are on the border of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire here, close to the Peak District and so much more. Sherwood Forest , the home of Robin Hood is very close http://sherwoodforest.org.uk/ as are lots of Stately homes and lovely countryside .

A favourite place for us to go is Hardwick , http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/hardwick/
The Halls and parks are lovely , lots of nature and history. Cromford , http://cromfordmills.org.uk/
home of Sir Richard Arkwrights' Mill is somewhere else we visit a lot ,
Matlock Bath , http://www.matlock.org.uk/
Bakewell , http://bakewellonline.co.uk/
Chatsworth House is local too. http://www.chatsworth.org/
Chesterfield and the famous Crooked Spire is just up the road, http://www.visitchesterfield.info/

So ,as you can imagine there is lots to see and do without having to travel too far.

(Pics are mys finish , Hardwick Halls from the Park and a couple of seals we saw at Skegness Natureland Seal Sanctuary http://www.skegnessnatureland.co.uk/ )
